Women’s Emerging Asia Cup 2023: After a long and frustrating road to the final, India A beat Bangladesh A to win the inaugural Women’s Emerging Asia Cup 2023. The final of the tournament belonged to Shreyanka Patil completely.
The off-spinner completely annihilated Bangladesh’s batting line-up, leading India to a 31-run comfortable victory. Kanika Ahuja also shone with her crucial 30 runs inning in just 23 deliveries that took India to a comfortable score.
A Rain-Filled Journey
The journey of India A woman’s team to the final was difficult in another sense. Eight out of 15 matches of the tournament were washed down by the rain. India A was only able to play 2 matches because of that.
After an emphatic win over hosts Hong Kong, India was looking solid. But their next two games against Pakistan and Nepal were washed out. India qualified for Semi-Final while topping the group on the back of just one victory.
Their semi-final match against Sri Lanka was also washed out. India qualified for the final on the back of better head-to-head results. And in the final, they defeated Bangladesh A, who qualified after defeating Pakistan with just 6 runs in the semi-final.

Uma Chetry was the top scorer of India A in the tournament with 38 runs. The players did not get enough matches to leave a proper mark. But Shreyanka Patil completely dominated the tournament, with no other bowler even close to her.
