Women’s World Boxing Championship: In the IBA Women’s World Boxing Championship 2023, Indian boxers Nikhat Zareen and Nitu Ghanghas both put on impressive performances to win their respective matches and secure spots in the tournament’s finals. The matches took place on Thursday at the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex. Lovlina Borgohain secured her place in the 75kg semi-final by defeating China’s Li Qian in a close split verdict. In the 81kg category, Saweety Boora won her semi-final bout against Australia’s Emma Greentree through a split decision.

Stunning performance by Indian boxers
Nikhat Zareen had a smooth journey in the ring as she defeated Ingrit Valencia of Colombia, a Rio Olympics bronze medallist, with a score of 5-0. The 26-year-old Indian boxer used her agility and exceptional strength to dominate the match right from the start, showcasing her skills and determination to secure her place in the World Championships final.
Nikhat Zareen showcased her fighting prowess in the Women’s World Boxing Championship 2023 by defeating Ingrit Valencia of Colombia with a score of 5-0. The Indian boxer kept her cool throughout the rounds and utilized her speed and strength to control the fight from the start. She continued to dominate the bout in the later rounds, preventing any chance of a comeback from her opponent and securing a win by unanimous decision. As a result, Nikhat has qualified for the final and will face Nguyen Thi Tam of Vietnam, a two-time Asian champion, on Sunday.
Nitu Ghanghas won her fourth consecutive fight at the IBA Women’s World Boxing Championship 2023, a hard-earned victory over the reigning Asian champion Alua Balkibekova of Kazakhstan, securing a 5-2 win on points after the bout was reviewed. Nitu had previously suffered a defeat against Balkibekova in the quarterfinals of the last World Championships, and this win was particularly meaningful for the 22-year-old Indian fighter.
Women’s World Boxing Championship Finale date
Nitu Ghanghas and Nikhat Zareen, two star Indian boxers, had impressive performances at the IBA Women’s World Boxing Championship 2023. Nikhat won her semifinal bout against veteran Rio Olympics bronze medallist Ingrit Valencia of Colombia with a unanimous decision, maintaining control throughout the bout. Nitu won against reigning Asian champion Alua Balkibekova of Kazakhstan with a hard-earned 5-2 win on points after a close match. Nitu will now face Lutsaikhan Altantsetseg of Mongolia in the final on Saturday, while Nikhat will take on two-time Asian champion Nguyen Thi Tam of Vietnam in the final on Sunday.
