World Cup 2023: Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi was furious over the stance of the Pakistan Cricket Board for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023. With the World Cup 2023 closer than ever, everyone is waiting for the official schedule release.
The behemoth cricket match between Pakistan and India is all set to be played at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on October 15. The problem is that PCB is still hesitant to play in Ahmedabad.
While the schedule is all set, and BCCI has already sent the proposal to ICC. The ICC should have announced the schedule by now; it is delayed as few discussions remain. One of those is PCB’s hesitation to play in Ahmedabad.
Play and Win
Shahid Afridi bashed PCB in the latest interview and asked why PCB is hesitant to play in Narendra Modi Stadium. Pakistan denied the first proposed draft of the World Cup schedule and asked to play league matches on the grounds of Chennai, Kolkata, and Mumbai.
Shahid Afridi questioned the stance taken by PCB. He further questioned PCB stating, “Does it hurl fire or is haunted,” referencing Ahmedabad’s pitch. He stated that if India has no problem playing there, neither should we.
Afridi further claimed, “Go and play – go, play and win. If these are the foreseen challenges, then the only way to overcome them is through a comprehensive victory.”
