WPL 2023: The highly anticipated tournament Women’s Premier League has begun with a starry opening ceremony. The match is slated to take place at 8 PM today at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. Just before the match, an opening ceremony was held. Soon after the performance concluded, the trophy was unveiled by all five captains on the stage.

The opening performance began with Kiara Advani and Kriti Sanon dancing to a number of Bollywood songs. After the Bollywood actress’s performance, singer AP Dhillon took on the stage and sang his smash-hits. The performance was close to for 25 minutes.
After the stars concluded with the opening ceremony, the BCCI President Roger Binny, Secretary Jay Shah, and Vice President Rajeev Shuka were called upon the stage to continue with the proceedings. Then, the captains of all the five teams i.e. RCB’s Smriti Mandhana, Mumbai Indians’ Harmanpreet Kaur, Gujarat Giants’ Beth Mooney, UP Warriorz’ Alyssa Healey, Delhi Capitals’ Meg Lanning were called upon the stage.
The five captains then unveiled the shiny trophy. All five captains pulled off the cloth together from the trophy on the stage. Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana were also spotted having an animated chat together just after unveiling the trophy.

The first match of the tournament will take place between Harmanpreet Kaur-led Mumbai Indians and Beth Mooney-led Gujarat Giants. The final of the tournament will take place on the 26th of March.
