WPL Auction: The Indian skipper, Harmanpreet Kaur, has been bought by Mumbai Indians for whooping INR 1.80 crores. The highly anticipated Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023 Auction is currently underway Mumbai.

To determine the base prices, they have been set in five brackets, with the lowest being Rs 10 lakh and the highest being Rs 50 lakh. The other brackets are Rs 20, 30, and 40 lakh, respectively. India’s national team captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, who is 33 years old, had a base price of Rs 50 lakh. After a heated bidding war, she was finally purchased by the Mumbai Indians for a whopping Rs 180 lakh, demonstrating her worth as a player despite her age. The five participating teams, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, RCB, Gujarat Giants and UP Warriorz, have a salary purse of Rs 12 crore per team for the first year, and a squad size of 18, including six overseas players. With this in mind, at least 20 to 25 of the 60 Indian women participating in the auction are expected to command good prices.
