Following the high drama in Haridwar, where the trio refrained from submerging their international medals in the Ganga due to a last-minute intervention by Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) president Naresh Tikait, records from the Northern Railways headquarters show that Rio Olympics bronze medalist Malik joined her Baroda House office here on May 31.

Sakshi Malik and Wrestlers Return to Work, Discuss Future of Protest
In her capacity as an Officer on Special Duty (OSD), Malik signed the letter. Malik did not return calls or texts, but an informed official was able to corroborate the development. “Yes, all three of us just recently enlisted. The wrestlers have made the decision to go back to work because the khaps are currently planning the protest’s future, the source claimed. Over the course of their 36-day sit-in, the wrestlers were on leave. “At first, we had taken a 7–10 day vacation. We continue to extend our leave. Our bosses have not put any pressure on us thus far. Wrestlers Upset as Railways Serves Show-Cause Notice Ahead of Mahila Mahapanchayat
On May 27, nevertheless, just one day before the wrestlers were supposed to march to the new Parliament building to join a Mahila Mahapanchayat, circumstances altered. It is known that Railways served them with a show-cause notice. The wrestlers that day were really upset. The letter from Railways put them behind schedule when they were already under a lot of pressure in the lead up to the scheduled Mahila Mahapanchayat, according to a protester close to the wrestlers. The wrestlers declared they would submerge their international medals in the Ganga in Haridwar after the unusual turn of events on May 28 when Vinesh, Malik, and Sangeeta Phogat were forcibly taken from Jantar Mantar by members of the Delhi Police and Rapid Action Force.
