Virat Kohli: In the wake of the recent on-field clash between former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir and Indian batting maestro Virat Kohli during the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, iconic all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has conveyed an interesting message to both these batting stalwarts.
Yuvraj Singh’s cheeky message to Kohli & Gambhir
A heated clash unfolded between Kohli and Gambhir following the victory of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) over the Lucknow Super Giants, led by KL Rahul, in match No.42 of the IPL 2023 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium on Monday. The intense exchange between the two players escalated to the point where they had to be separated by teammates and officials from both teams.
World Cup hero Yuvraj Singh decided to join in the conversation by taking to his social media platform on Wednesday. In a cheeky message, he called out both the players. Yuvraj wrote: “I think #Sprite should sign #Gauti and #Cheeku for their campaign #ThandRakh 🤪🥶 what say guys? 😎 @GautamGambhir @imVkohli @Sprite.”

For those unaware, Gauti and Cheeku are the nicknames given to Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli respectively. In the aftermath of their heated exchange during the IPL 2023, both Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir faced the consequences as they were fined 100% of their match fees. The disciplinary action was taken due to their violation of Article 2.21 of the IPL code of conduct.
The altercation between Kohli and Gambhir unfolded on the field when Naveen-ul-Haq, a bowler from LSG, engaged in a heated exchange with the former RCB captain during the 17th over of the match. Following RCB’s victory, when Kyle Mayers approached Kohli for a conversation, Gambhir intervened by pulling Mayers away and subsequently engaged in a verbal altercation with Kohli himself.
