According to officials, ten people were killed and many others were injured in Maharashtra when the bus they were in collided with a truck.
On the Nashik-Shirdi Highway, the incident happened close to the village of Pathare. The chief minister’s office has announced a 5 lakh rupee ex-gratia compensation to the deceased’s kin.
When the accident occurred, the bus, which was carrying worshipers from Badlapur and other areas, was travelling via the Nashik Ahmednagar road from Badlapur to Shirdi for Saibaba darshan.
There have been twelve injuries. Six women, two children, and two men were among the dead. There were up to 45 passengers on boarding the bus.
The incident happened around 7am close to Pathare Shivar in Nashik’s Sinnar tehsil, about 180 kilometres from Mumbai, according to news agency PTI.
