2 Dead, 4 Injured As Home Theatre Wedding Gift Explodes

A home theater music system received as a wedding gift exploded like a bomb in Kawardha in Kabirdham district of Chhattisgarh. The explosion was so tremendous that the whole house collapsed. In the grip of this blast, the groom and his brother were killed, while 4 people including a one and a half year old child were injured.

In the accident that happened on Monday, the police on Tuesday detained four people, including the ex-boyfriend of the bride.

Bomb explodes while checking wedding gifts

According to the Chhattisgarh Police, Hemendra Meravi, a resident of Chamari village under Regankhar police station area of ​​Kawardha district, was married two days ago in Anjana village of Madhya Pradesh. Along with other gifts, he also got a Sony company’s home theater music system at the wedding. On Monday morning around 11.30 am, the family members were checking the gifts received at the wedding. Meanwhile, Hemendra and his younger brother Rajkumar started the home theatre. The moment the home theater button was pressed, it exploded. Hemendra died on the spot after being hit by it, while Rajkumar died during treatment in the hospital. One and a half year old Saurabh, Deepak, Suraj Meravi and Shivkumar were also injured due to the blast, whose treatment is going on in the hospital.

Maoists first threw the bomb

The explosion was so tremendous that all the walls of Hemendra’s kutcha house collapsed and the goods were found lying far away. Kawardha district comes in the active zone of Maoists. Due to this, the police who reached the spot first started the investigation assuming it to be a Maoist incident. Later, information about Hemendra’s newly wedded wife Lalita Meravi’s pre-marriage love affair was received. After this, the police have taken four youths including her lover into custody from Anjana village. Police claim that these youths had fitted gunpowder in the home theater to avenge the betrayal in love. Although the police have not yet made an official disclosure.
