Punjab: According to officials report 24 students from a private school were hospitalized after experiencing breathing difficulties on Thursday. It was believed to be happened due to a gas leak from an industrial facility. One of the students was subsequently transferred to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research located in Chandigarh, According to the officials.
Students Complain of Breathing Difficulties in Nangal Area
‘Some students complained of experiencing breathing difficulties in the morning at the Nangal area. following which the school was closed and the affected students were taken to the hospital,’ said Officials. Preeti Yadav, the Rupnagar Deputy Commissioner of Police, stated that ’24 students were referred to the hospital, with most of them being discharged. She added that four to five students were still under observation.’ She added that ‘The student who was sent to PGIMER was reportedly in a stable condition.’

Officials form team to investigate gas leak from industrial unit in Nangal area
A team of officers and specialists from the Punjab Pollution Control Board to carry out an initial investigation into the event has been created by officials. ‘The gas leak originated from an industrial unit in the vicinity,’ according to officials. ‘We are still trying to determine the source of the leak but confirmed that the situation has been contained,’ DCP stated.
