Swati Maliwal: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) asserted on Saturday that the ruling BJP directed Swati Maliwal to file the assault complaint against Arvind Kejriwal‘s assistant, Bibhav Kumar. Atishi, the leader of the AAP, stated that the former DCW chief was forced to “hatch this conspiracy” by means of an outdated Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) case.
Atishi Accuses BJP of Using Multiple Agencies for Coercion
On this Atishi told ANI, “The way ED, CBI, anti-corruption bureau, Income tax dept, Economic Offences Wing were used to blackmail opposition leaders and make them join BJP, similarly in the Swati Maliwal case the same formula was used.”
She added, “There is a case against Swati Maliwal by the Anti-Corruption Bureau, an FIR has been made and a probe is underway and using this, Swati Maliwal was made to hatch this conspiracy and was used as a pawn.”
Call for Unbiased Probe into Maliwal’s Communications with BJP Leaders
According to Atishi, Swati Maliwal had communication with BJP leaders. “There should be an unbiased probe on who was in contact with whom. Swati Maliwali met all BJP members and when, what conversation they had on call and on WhatsApp,” she added. Maliwal was the subject of a charge sheet filed by ACB in 2016 for allegedly making unauthorized appointments to the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW).
It stated she preferred AAP employees. According to Swati Maliwal, on Monday, Bibhav Kumar beat her up in Arvind Kejriwal’s drawing room. She has reported Arvind Kejriwal’s assistant to the police. Additionally, Bibhav Kumar has filed a complaint against Swati Maliwal, alleging that she assaulted him after abusing him.
BJP’s JP Nadda Refutes AAP’s Claims
JP Nadda, the leader of the BJP, chastised the AAP for asserting that Swati Maliwal was sent by his party to trap Arvind Kejriwal. He claimed that AAP lacks credibility. “Aam Aadmi Party is a party built on the foundation of lies and its credibility is not zero, it is in minus. Today Arvind Kejriwal has been exposed in front of the people of the country and the people of Delhi, he has been exposed in every way… If this thing has been hatched by BJP then why were you moving the mic (during PC in Lucknow) from here to there? Why are you silent? What is stopping you?” he told ANI.
JP Nadda Denies Maliwal’s Contact with BJP Leaders
JP Nadda went on to state that Swati Maliwal was not in contact with any BJP leader. Arvind Kejriwal was in the house at the time of the alleged assault, according to Maliwal’s FIR. She said that Bibhav Kumar had kicked her in the stomach and smacked her eight times.
On Friday, the AAP stated that Swati Maliwal intended to go after Arvind Kejriwal. The party further asserted that she was captured on camera berating Kumar and arguing with security personnel. According to Kumar, Swati Maliwal stormed into Arvind Kejriwal’s home demanding to meet him without making an appointment.
