All you need to know about Chhattisgarh Budget

The Chhattisgarh government announced on Monday that it would provide unemployed youth in the state with a monthly allowance of Rs 2,500 and an annual budget of Rs 1,21,500 crore for the financial year 2023–2024. The chief minister, Bhupesh Baghel, who is also in charge of finance, also announced an increase in the monthly honoraria paid to kotwars, home guards, and anganwadi workers.

In the election year, the Congress government has made an effort to meet the needs of young people, farmers, labourers, women, and employees. Later this year, elections will be held in the state.

The government has proposed a Lite metro project between Raipur and Durg in terms of urban transport.

“A new scheme to give allowance to the unemployed will be launched. Under the scheme, unemployed youth in the age group of 18 to 35 years who passed class 12, and with an annual family income of less than 2.50 lakh, will be given an allowance of Rs 2,500 per month,” Baghel told the Assembly.

He noted that the budget has allocated a 250 crore rupee provision for this.

According to him, the monthly honoraria for sahayika (assistants) and anganwadi employees will rise from Rs 3,250 to Rs 5,000 and Rs 6,500 to Rs 10,000, respectively.

The honorarium for mini-anganwadi personnel will also increase to Rs 7,500 from the current Rs 4,500, he said.
