Due to the continuous and heavy rainfall in the state, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has directed the State Education Minister, Sabita Indra Reddy, to announce a two-day closure of all educational institutions in the state. The holidays will be observed on July 26th and 27th. Immediate orders are to be issued to implement this decision.

According to an official statement, Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao today directed Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari to declare a two-day holiday tomorrow and day after tomorrow (Friday and Saturday) for all government offices including all types of educational institutions in GHMC limits only. CM said that emergency services like medical, milk supply etc. will continue uninterrupted.
CM KCR ordered the state labor department to take steps to ensure that private companies also announce holidays in their respective offices in GHMC limits. Earlier, rain warnings were issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
After this, the government had announced a two-day holiday in all educational institutions of the state. Education Minister Sabita Indra Reddy announced that the holidays would be on Thursday and Friday. On Wednesday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert indicating the possibility of widespread rainfall across Telangana.
