Karnataka Election 2023: Amit Shah, the union home minister, performed significant roadshows in four Karnataka constituencies on Monday in advance of the assembly elections, which will be held on May 10 in the state. Large, jubilant crowds met him and showered him with flower petals as he travelled the path.
Reservation based on religion is unconstitutional-Amit Shah
Amit Shah asked voters to support the BJP candidates during his roadshows in the four constituencies. He also pleaded with the gathering to support the election of Modi as the head of a “double engine government.” Home Minister Amit Shah declared, ‘Modi would once again become Prime Minister in 2024 if you make sure a twin engine government comes to power in Karnataka.’ The senior BJP leader also backed the state government’s move to eliminate the 4% Muslim OBC quota. The home minister declared, “Reservation based on religion is unconstitutional.” The roadshows were held in Shivamogga, Ranebennur, and Gubbi in the Haveri and Tumakuru districts, respectively.

Amit Shah Draws Large Crowds
Senior BJP official KS Eshwarappa and party MP BY Raghavendra joined Amit Shah for his roadshow in Shivamogga. Many party members were seen carrying BJP flags as they followed the home minister’s vehicle. They were yelling chants in support of the party and Narendra Modi as prime minister. ‘All of these reservations would be reinstated and Muslim reservations will be added once more if Congress wins the election,’ Home minister said. ‘Do you want a 4% reservation for Muslims? (to return)?’ he enquired. Additionally, the workers could be heard chanting “Jai Sri Ram” and “Bharat Mata ki Jai.”
