Arvind Kejriwal: While being held in the custody of the Enforcement Directorate, Arvind Kejriwal, who was recently detained in alleged connection with the Delhi liquor policy case, has given his first directive to the government, according to AAP sources. According to party insiders, the directive was given via letter and has to do with the Water Ministry.
Kejriwal’s Directive from Custody
Today at 10 a.m., Delhi Minister Atishi delivered an update on the directive that Kejriwal had issued. “From ED custody, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has expressed concerns over water and sewer issues in some areas of the city. He has directed to deploy enough water tankers in areas facing scarcity,”Atishi stated as she read the command he had sent.
“Even in such a situation, he is not thinking about himself, but the people of Delhi and their problems. The arrest of Kejriwal will not halt the work of the people of Delhi,” she added.
Detention of Arvind Kejriwal
The Enforcement Department (ED) detained Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on March 21 in accordance with the anti-money laundering statute following inspections of his official residence in the national capital’s Civil Lines neighbourhood.
He was placed under remand on Friday to be held by the Enforcement Directorate until March 28 in order to undergo “detailed and sustained interrogation” about his involvement in the purported anomalies in the spirits fraud.
Kejriwal has not resigned from his position as chief minister despite his detention, and party officials have promised that he will stay in that role and “run the government from jail if needed.”
