Baloda Bazaar Protest: On Monday, a sizable contingent of Satnami community members arrived in Baloda Bazaar, Chhattisgarh, where they violently protested and surrounded the collector. At the Dussehra site, people were demonstrating collectively when the protest turned violent. Nonetheless, a significant number of police officers have been stationed there due to the gravity of the situation. We would like to inform you that the purpose of this protest is to voice opposition to the destruction of Jaitkham and the damage of the religious symbol Amar Gufa.
Deputy Chief Minister’s Announcement
Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma said, “An attempt was made to damage the revered Jait Kham in the holy Amar Cave on the intervening night of 15-16 May. As per the instructions of the state Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, a judicial inquiry will be conducted into this incident which has disturbed social harmony.”
The Satnami community was calling for a high-level investigation into the vandalism of Jaitkham and the temple. However, as of yet, no inquiry committee has been established. They staged a demonstration today in opposition to this, and many individuals came inside the Collectorate.
Opposition to Destruction of Amar Gufa
In actuality, they are opposing the destruction of Amar Gufa, a Satnami community holy icon. They started protesting after smashing over the barricades and going inside the Baloda Bazaar Collector’s Office. They lit a number of surrounding cars on fire. They started a fire in the Baloda Bazaar building. The building’s fire caused the higher stories to catch fire. They insisted that this issue be looked into at a high level. Numerous law enforcement officers have been stationed nearby.
