Bengaluru News: After receiving bomb threat emails on Friday, December 1, 48 schools in Bengaluru, including NPS Basaveshwarnagar, were sent into a state of panic. Emails claiming that “there are explosive devices on the school grounds” were sent to Bengaluru schools.
Tentative language and references to violent activities were used in the threatening email, which was issued on December 1, 2023, at 10:05 AM, making things stressful for the community and the schools.

Security measures heightened in area:
Authorities are actively investigating the origin of threatening emails targeting multiple schools to ensure the safety of students and staff. Heightened security measures are in place, with local law enforcement collaborating closely with affected schools. Following the threat, school authorities promptly informed parents through emails, outlining a precautionary school evacuation with law enforcement conducting campus clearance. Classes were canceled for the day, and instructions for safe student evacuation were provided.
One Bengaluru school emailed parents, explaining the bomb threat and the initiation of an evacuation as a precaution. The school emphasized collaboration with law enforcement, ensuring the safety of students as the top priority. Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar addressed the media, reassuring that the situation is being handled with the utmost priority on safety.
Expressing initial panic, Shivakumar mentioned being on the treadmill when he saw the news, highlighting the widespread nature of the threats. The police commissioner confirmed that over 30 schools received the threatening emails but suggested it appears to be a hoax. Anti-sabotage teams are deployed at these locations as a precaution, with authorities urging against panic.
