Bengaluru Techie Kills His 2-Year-Old Daughter, Dumps Body in Lake

Bengaluru double murder case

Bengaluru: Rahul Parmar, a Gujarati engineer living and working in Bengaluru, decided to kill his own 2-year-old daughter because he he didn’t have money to feed her. The man had lost his job and had lost a lot of money trading cryptocurrency.

He lied to his wife about being robbed while already mortgaging his wife’s jewellery to pay off his obligation. The man made the decision to kill his own daughter and commit himself as a result of being trapped in a terrible debt cycle.

“She started crying and I didn’t have any money left with me. A worse situation awaited me if I returned home. I just hugged her tight and killed her. My helplessness to buy her food made me take the decision. I jumped into the lake with her to kill myself, but didn’t drown,” he told the police.

Rahul Parmar, a 45-year-old debt-ridden engineer who just escaped a suicide attempt, told the police everything, according to TOI.

Rahul was taken to a site Mahazar on Friday as part of the crime-reconstruction process after he was arrested by Kolar police on allegations of killing his daughter Jiya and dumping of her body near Kendatti on the Bengaluru-Kolar highway.

The police reported that after initially sobbing excessively, he regained control and started telling his side of the story. When he noticed his father Vinod and wife Bhavya standing on the lake bed, he started crying once more.

Rahul allegedly took Jiya out while pretending to go to school on November 15 and the two went missing. When Jiya’s body was found in the lake the following morning, investigators suspected Rahul had also killed himself.

Although he was reportedly quite devoted to his daughter, he decided to end her life and take his own life to appease those he had borrowed money from.
