Best Tourism Village: According to West Bengal’s Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Kiriteshwari village in the Murshidabad district has been chosen by the central government as the best tourism the village in the nation.
She stated that the Village won the award by out-competing 795 applicants from 31 states and Union Territories.
Banerjee posted on Twitter
“Glad to share and announce that Kiriteshwari in Murshidabad district of West Bengal has been selected by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, as the Best Tourism Village of India. The selection has happened in the Best Tourism Village Competition, 2023, from among 795 applications received from 31 States/UTs,” Banerjee posted on Twitter (Now X).
The Kiriteswari temple, which is regarded as one of the 51 Shaktipeeths, is the village’s main attraction in addition to its scenic beauty, and the Union ministry will give the award during a ceremony in New Delhi on September 27.
“MoT, GoI will give away awards on September 27 in New Delhi. I congratulate the people of the village. Jai Bangla,” she added.
