Neha Singh Rathore, a Bhojpuri singer, was the subject of a First Information Report (FIR) after she posted on social media about the event in Madhya Pradesh where a guy urinated on a tribal. A man who appeared to be the accused Pravesh Shukla was photographed urinating on the tribal member Dashmesh Rawat while he was half-naked. The person who was urinating was seen with his khaki shorts set aside, a black cap on his head, and a white half-sleeved shirt. “MP Me Ka Ba..? (what’s happening in MP) Coming soon,” the singer captioned the picture.

Based on a complaint made by one Suraj Khare under Section 153(A) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which prohibits inciting animosity between groups on the basis of race, religion, or other characteristics, a FIR was filed at the Habibganj police station in Bhopal.Neha Singh Rathore received a police summons in February for the lyrics of her song “UP Me Ka Ba- Season 2,” which condemned the Uttar Pradesh government for the deaths of a mother-daughter team in Kanpur Dehat during an eviction drive.

Neha Singh Rathore Responds to Charges of Inciting Enmity Through Song

According to Code of Criminal Procedure Section 160 (Police officer’s power to request attendance of witnesses), the notice was served. Neha Singh Rathore was charged with using her song to incite enmity among the general population. The singer claimed in an interview with India Today that this wasn’t the first time she had questioned the use of songs by the government. She claimed that the government merely issues notices and is unable to respond. She added that she wouldn’t stop singing about normal people’s problems.
