In a departmental review meeting, a senior Bihar bureaucrat verbally abused his junior without cause. His constant mistreatment of junior was caught on tape and has gone viral. The incident has caused problems for the Bihar government. The Bihar Administration Service Association has urged his immediate dismissal and has denounced the officer’s behaviour.

In a widely circulated video, IAS Officer KK Pathak, Principal Secretary of the Prohibition Department is also seen going ballistic on people not following traffic rules in the state.
“People here are like that. In Chennai, people follow rules. Have you seen anyone following traffic rules here? They even keep honking at a red light,”
The bureaucrat launched a hail of personal attacks on Deputy Collector and kept abusing him despite officer apologizing to him in the presence of other officials.
Reports emerging from various quarters have indicated that Pathak was upset over a complaint filed against him for ill-treating the Deputy Collector during training. The complaint was filed by Bihar Government in Gaya in November.

Bihar Administrative Service Association up in arms, demands immediate disciplinary action
This is what Sunil Tiwari, who heads officer body had to say,
“The government should sack KK Pathak as soon as possible. He is not in a good frame of mind. Apart from being the Secretary of the Prohibition Department. He harasses the officers of Bihar. One officer has also died after being publicly humiliated by him. All our officials are angry about this video. We are going to take action as soon as possible. At present, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and the Chief Secretary are requested to take action against him,”
Pathak, 1990 Batch Officer was appointed as Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) at the Department of Prohibition and Excise in 2020 after he returned from Central deputation.
