Nitish Kumar: On social media, a video featuring Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is going viral more and more. Nitish Kumar discusses touching an engineer’s foot in the video. As he says this, he begins to walk in the direction of the engineer, who motions for him to stop with folded hands. After this statement of Nitish, all the big leaders and officers present there were stunned.
Inauguration of the 3.4-Kilometer Stretch
In Patna, Bihar, a 21.5-kilometer bridge across the Ganga is being constructed between Digha and Didarganj, according to a report. JP Ganga Path is the name given to it. Nitish Kumar traveled to officially open a 3.4-kilometer stretch of the JP Ganga Path on Wednesday, July 10.
This was the JP Ganga Path’s third phase’s first program. When this project’s work took longer than expected, Nitish Kumar became irate. He began requesting that the engineers expedite their work. He said, “If you say, I will touch your feet, but build it (the entire bridge) quickly,” glancing at the project manager, an engineer.
Previous Incident of Similar Gesture
‘No-no sir, don’t do this,’ exclaimed the Ganga Path project manager, who was taken aback upon hearing this. Along with Ravi Shankar Prasad, the BJP deputy chief ministers Vijay Sinha and Samrat Chaudhary were there when this incident occurred.
Nitish Kumar performed a similar act live last week, and the video went viral. Then he began folding his hands in front of an IAS officer as he was speaking on stage at a Patna programme. He began to discuss holding his feet. The Chief Minister was talking about land survey on the stage. Additional Chief Secretary Deepak Kumar Singh was also sitting on the stage. Nitish Kumar said to him, “We request you with folded hands to complete the land survey before July 2025. Tell me how happy we would have been if this work had been done.”
