Bihar News: Bihar Continues to Shiver as Cold Wave Persists; No Respite Until January 26

Fog Update

Bihar News: Bihar residents are yet to experience relief from the prevailing cold conditions, with no significant improvement seen after the emergence of sunlight on January 20. Hopes for milder temperatures were dashed as a drop of 3 degrees Celsius in daytime temperatures occurred. According to the Meteorological Department, the grip of the cold wave is anticipated to persist until January 26, with a prediction of continued chilly weather.

Intense Cold Wave Grips Bihar

The Meteorological Department reported that for the past three days, a jet stream has been passing through the plains of northern India, specifically the Ganga plains. This dry air, flowing from west to east, exacerbates the cold, causing severe cold conditions in the state. The situation is expected to persist as the air from the north is flowing towards the west, intensifying the ongoing cold spell in the region.

Districts to Experience Harsh Cold Conditions

The districts of West Champaran, East Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Muzaffarpur, Saran, Vaishali, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Supaul, Saharsa, Madhepura, Araria, Kishanganj, Purnia, and Katihar are expected to witness dense fog and severe cold conditions resembling a cold day. Additionally, dense fog and extreme cold temperatures have been observed in Gopalganj, Motihari, Sheikhpura, Purnia, Forbesganj, Supaul, Darbhanga, and Vaishali over the last 24 hours.
