Bihar News: The murder of a journalist, who was shot dead at his home in the early hours of Friday in the Araria district, was allegedly committed by four persons, according to Bihar Police. Vimal Yadav was the victim, who worked for Dainik Jagran. Four persons who showed up at his Raniganj home and opened fire on him, according to the police, hitting him in the chest. Two of the four guys who were detained on Saturday, according to the police, were responsible for the murder of Vimal Yadav.
Details of the Accused in Journalist Vimal Yadav’s Murder Case
Bihar Police said, “Four of the accused, namely Vipin Yadav, Bhavesh Yadav, Ashish Yadav and Umesh Yadav have been arrested. Two accused, namely Rupesh Yadav and Kranti Yadav, are in Araria jail and the Police are taking them on remand. Two accused are absconding.” Based on the father of Vimal’s complaint, a case was opened. Four of the eight suspects identified in the FIR were arrested earlier today. In 2019, the accused is also accused of killing Vimal Yadav’s sibling. The only witness in that case was Vimal, who felt tremendous pressure to alter his statement. Several people were upset over the murder, including Chirag Paswan, the head of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), who criticised Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, for failing to uphold law and order. After expressing his sorrow at the murder in Araria, Nitish declared, “I have ordered officials to take immediate action soon after receiving the news.”
Bihar Police’s Initial Findings in Vimal Yadav’s Murder Case
According to a preliminary investigation by the Bihar Police, the murder showed that the deceased had a history of animosity with his neighbours, which could have contributed to the occurrence. Two years prior, Vimal’s brother was also killed in a similar way. The late journalist had not yet testified in court against his sibling’s murderers. Bihar Police announced on X, formerly known as Twitter, that the 35-year-old victim was a local journalist for the Dainik Jagran newspaper. Around 5:30 am, the burglars called his name and knocked on his door. When he opened the door, they shot him in the chest, according to the police. “On information, the police station chief reached the spot at around 05:35 and investigated the matter, Superintendent of Police, Araria also visited the spot,” they added.
