Bihar Weather Update: Weather Department has issued Rain alert for Patna city along with 21 other states of Bihar. IMD has predicted light showers in city for the next 2-3 days. There is a possibility of thunder storms and lightening also in the state. According to IMD, the monsoon is currently moving from the Himalayan Region, which is why the areas like South and East might receive light showers in the city. The city of Bihar witnessed Moderate Rain yesterday which has given relief to the people from the scorching heat. There were light showers after 2pm . Bihar’s Saharsa and Sirmiri also received light showers.
These cities received Moderate Rainfall
The Patna city received 21.2 mm Rainfall, Bhagalpur-0.6mm, Purnia-0.7mm, Harnaul-25.0mm per rainfall has been registered. According to the IMD, Monsoon has not been very active in the state this year, this is why the farmers were facing a tough time in the paddy production. The farmers have planted over 87% of the paddy in the state. The light showers gave them some relief.
Monsoon creating havoc in Hilly Areas
However, on the other side, Monsoon has been creating havoc in the hilly areas, people living in the low lying areas of Himachal and Uttarakhand have been shifted to safer places due to the excess water in the area. NDRF anmd SDRF teams are on stand bye for any emergency situation.
