Abhishek Banerjee: In response to the attack on West Bengal minister Birbaha Hansda’s vehicle, senior TMC politician Abhishek Banerjee warned on Friday that agitations cannot take the shape of hooliganism. He claimed that the event also resulted in attacks on the cars of media people and accused the BJP of arranging the attacks. According to Banerjee, who revealed details about the incident, “Some people created a barbaric atmosphere and attacked Hansda’s car while we were on the way.”

Abhishek Banerjee Condemns Violence and Advocates Peaceful Dialogue

“Car windscreens were damaged, and media personnel’s cars were also attacked,” Banerjee continued. According to officials, Birbaha Hansda’s car was vandalised in Paschim Medinipur district on Friday as members of the Kurmi community are accused of throwing rocks at Abhishek Banerjee’s convoy, which she was riding in. Salboni, where Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is expected to attend a party event on Saturday, is the location of the incident. Abhishek Banerjee continued by saying, “I’ll talk in case there are any problems. While I was in Purulia and Bankura, several groups spoke to me. “Hooliganism cannot be the result of agitations. TMC employees were pulled behind bikes by scarves. What sort of anxiety is this? If you protest peacefully, nobody will stop you, Banerjee remarked. “Why use bricks when you want to talk?” he asked.

Allegations of BJP Involvement and Calls for Accountability

Abhishek Banerjee, a Z-plus protected individual, organised a roadshow as part of his Trinamooley Nabojowar (new wave in Trinamool) campaign in Jhargram’s Binpur and Gopiballavpur. He was driving through Salboni after the event when members of the Kurmi community, who are protesting and asking for ST status, gathered on both sides of the road, according to a party leader, who spoke to PTI. They allegedly began throwing rocks at the caravan as his automobile advanced. Banerjee, meanwhile, claimed that the BJP was responsible for the assault. I am in favour of democratic protests. Everyone is welcome to approach me and voice their opinions, but what kind of a demonstration is this if you’re throwing rocks, assaulting people, and breaking into cars? He made the accusation while speaking at a late-night party event in Gopiballavpur. “I believe that some miscreants of the BJP disguised as members of the Kurmi community are behind this attack to malign TMC’s campaign,” he said. Additionally, he wanted a comment on the incident from the Kurmi community’s leaders within 48 hours.
