Lok Sabha Election 2024: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has an important lead ahead of the results of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 since Mukesh Dalal, their candidate from Surat, has been declared elected without a challenge. This happened after the withdrawal of every other contender from the race. After the announcement, the Member of Parliament (MP) certificate was quickly given to Dalal by the Surat District Collector.
Dalal’s Uncontested Victory
The victory of Mukesh Dalal in Surat was uncontested after the rejection of Congress candidate Nilesh Kumbhani’s nomination and the subsequent withdrawal of all other contenders. Among them, Pyarelal Bharati of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) was the last candidate to withdraw from the race for the Surat Lok Sabha seat.
Congratulations from Gujarat Chief Minister
Mukesh Dalal received congratulations from Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, who hailed his pre-poll win as the “beginning of a historic triumph” for the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections of 2024. Patel was upbeat, saying that “This is the beginning of the historic victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the whole of India, including Gujarat, in the Lok Sabha elections. This is a clear indication of the lotus blossoming with BJP’s resounding victory in all 26 seats in Gujarat and the realization of the resolve of #AbKiBaar400Paar under the leadership of Hon’ble Modiji.”
Cancellation of Kumbhani’s Nomination
Prior to Dalal’s uncontested victory, the nomination papers of Congress candidate Nilesh Kumbhani were revoked by the election officer on Sunday. The cancellation was based on the discovery of “fake signatures of people who signed as witnesses” on Kumbhani’s nomination form.
Upcoming Polls in Gujarat
Now, all eyes are focused on May 7, the day of the Gujarat Lok Sabha elections in 2024, which will include voting in all 26 seats. Mukesh Dalal’s uncontested victory in Surat has given the BJP hope as they strive for a sweeping victory throughout the state.
