The Supreme Court has granted bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the alleged liquor policy scam case. He had been in jail for nearly six months without a trial. This decision comes after the chief minister was briefly granted bail two months ago before the Lok Sabha elections.
Arvind Kejriwal’s Bail After Six Months in Jail
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, jailed for his alleged involvement in the liquor policy scam, can now leave prison. The Aam Aadmi Party leader had spent close to six months behind bars. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed the case against him, and now with the Supreme Court’s decision, Kejriwal has secured bail.

Don’ts for Arvind Kejriwal

AAP Leaders Celebrate Arvind Kejriwal’s Bail
Senior AAP leader, Manish Sisodia, Saurabh Bharadwaj and Atishi were seen celebrating the Supreme Court’s verdict on granting bail to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.
Legal Arguments in Supreme Court
In the final hearing last week, senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi represented Arvind Kejriwal. He argued that Arvind Kejriwal had already met the ‘triple test’ legal requirement for bail. Singhvi highlighted that the same court had granted him bail earlier in the ED case. However, the CBI disagreed, stating they had strong evidence against the Delhi CM. Much of their case relied on statements from former accused individuals, now testifying against Arvind Kejriwal in exchange for lesser sentences.
