Chamoli District Judge Suspended by Uttarakhand High Court, Action Taken on Privacy Violation Complaint

Uttarakhand High Court: Dhananjay Chaturvedi, a district judge in Chamoli, has been suspended by the Uttarakhand High Court for violating a female subordinate employee’s right to privacy and missing when statements were being recorded in his court. Chaturvedi has been assigned to the Champawat district and sessions judge’s office in compliance with a high court directive that was issued by registrar general Anuj Kumar Sangal on Monday.

Chamoli District Judge Accused of Accessing Subordinate’s Call Detail Data

On Wednesday, the order was made available. He was also shown to have abused his power by getting the call detail data of a female employee who was beneath him. According to the high court‘s judgement, Chaturvedi would continue to be employed by the Champawat district and sessions judge’s office throughout his suspension.

High Court Dissatisfied with Response to Show-Cause Notice

As of right now, it is unknown who will succeed Chaturvedi as the district judge of Chamoli. Following accusations against him, the high court gave Chaturvedi a show-cause notice on April 11 but was unsatisfied with his response.
