CM Bhagwant Mann Condemns Sukhbir Singh Badal’s ‘Madman’ Remark, Report

CM Bhagwant Man

CM Bhagwant Mann: Former deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal was heard calling Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann “pagal (mad)” in a viral video, days after Mann and former Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee leader Navjot Singh Sidhu spat barbs. Both Mann and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) responded to Badal on Thursday.

War of Words Escalates

In a video clip that has now gone viral, Badal can be heard calling Mann “pagal” as he recalls previous state chief ministers. “Since Punjab was reorganised, several CMs have taken over during different regimes, Barnala sahab remained for 2.5 years, Badal sahab for 20 years, Captain Amarinder for 10 years, Beant Singh for five years, and the incumbent, who is a madman, is there for a year,” Badal is heard stating. Later, Mann posted a message on Twitter with the words, ‘No issue Sukhbir ji, nature is with me, the people of Punjab are with me. This lunatic at least does not rob Punjab like you do.’

AAP Slams Sukhbir Singh Badal’s Remarks as Indecent and Accuses Him of Corruption and Frustration

AAP, meanwhile, denounced Badal’s words as “indecent” and said that they demonstrate his unease. Malvinder Singh Kang, the chief spokesperson for AAP Punjab, claimed that while in office, “these guys accumulated fortune worth billions and trillions by abusing public tax money. Their plans to plunder Punjab have now been foiled by the Chief Minister’s sincere politics. These folks are in turmoil, which is why they are saying such things. Kang also attacked opposition leader Pratap Singh Bajwa in his video, claiming that Bajwa had made fun of Dalit AAP MLAs a few days prior. In fact, this powerful and aristocratic political dynasty views the throne as their inheritance, continued Kang. They find it difficult to accept that the chief minister is the son of a teacher who is descended from a regular farming family. After the common people (via AAP) took power, these folks became so incredibly frustrated and angry that they lost control of their minds.
