Punjab Police Deems CRPF Protection Unnecessary in Punjab, Chandigarh, and Delhi
Senior staff members in the chief minister’s office said that the security wing has written to the MHA stating that the CM does not require CRPF protection in Punjab, Chandigarh, or the national capital since Punjab Police has adequate security preparations in place to safeguard him in these areas. However, the letter stated that the Centre may provide Mann with CRPF protection in other states. Currently, 1,200 police officers are part of the CM’s three-tier security. The National Security Guards (NSG), a counterterrorism organisation, served as a model for the SOG’s training.
