Chandrababu Naidu: A major incident occurred in Andhra Pradesh on August 21, when a powerful explosion occurred at a pharma company in Anakapalle. The explosion happened during lunchtime, when workers were eating, and the explosion caused so much smoke to fill the area that for a while nobody could understand what had happened. Rescue operations are still ongoing. 17 people lost their lives in this tragic explosion.

17 Lives Lost in Tragic Blast

The event happened at the Atchutapuram Special Economic Zone (SEZ), specifically at Essentia Science Private Limited. Reports state that forty more people have been hurt and that 17 individuals have died so far. For medical attention, the injured were brought to private hospitals. Panic ensued in the aftermath of the occurrence, causing havoc. According to information provided by the District Magistrate (DM), the factory operates with 381 employees working in two shifts. Although the precise cause of the explosion is still unknown, it is believed to have been triggered by an electrical short circuit.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu Visits Injured

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu visited the injured and shared updates on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter). He posted, “I visited the victims of the Achyutapuram Pharma Company accident at Visakha Hospital. I gave courage to them and their family members. I have assured that the affected families will be taken care of. I pray to God that those who are undergoing treatment will return to full health. To the families of those who lost their lives in this tragic accident, Rs. 1 crore each, families of grievously injured Rs. 50 lakhs and for minor injuries Rs. 25 lakhs each. We will stand by the affected families in the future. We will take all necessary measures to prevent accidents.”
