Food and Supply minister Lal Chand Kataruchak recently found himself at the helm of controversies after Congress MLA Sukhpar Khaira submitted a video of him being included in an act of “sexual misconduct.” However, chief minister Bhagwant Mann has stood by Kataruchak saying Khaira has a history of making baseless allegations.
Punjab CM supports Kataruchak
The chief minister said that he has not received any such clipping of Kataruchak. He was responding to the allegations leveled against his minister by Khaira and reiterated by BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa. “Khaira has a habit of making baseless allegations to stay in the limelight and draw political mileage,” said the CM. He also slammed the Congress leader for falsely accusing Kataruchak of employing his close aides and relatives in his official staff. “Our political opponents are worried about the outcome of the Jalandhar bypoll and have no other issue to talk about.
Jalandhar by-polls
The Jalandhar by-polls will take place on May 10. The Aam Aadmi Party has named former Congress MLA Sushil Kumar Rinku as its candidate for the Jalandhar Lok Sabha bypoll. The counting of votes will take place on May 13.
