In response to the intense cold wave gripping Bihar, the District Magistrate of Patna, Dr. Chandrashekhar, has issued orders to modify the school timings across all government and private schools in the district. The decision is aimed at ensuring the safety and well-being of school-going children who are particularly vulnerable to the severe cold conditions.
Revised Timings: Effective until January 13, the revised school timings dictate that classes will commence at 9:00 AM and conclude at 3:30 PM. The altered schedule takes into account the chilly weather conditions and aims to minimize the exposure of students to the early morning cold.
Mission Dakshta Classes: The timings for “Mission Dakshta” classes, targeted at academically weaker students in government schools, remain unchanged. These special classes will continue from 3:30 PM to 4:15 PM, providing additional support to students who require it.
Teacher Attendance: While the school timings for students have been adjusted, there is no modification in the schedule for teachers. Teachers are required to adhere to their regular working hours, maintaining their presence at schools from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Timings Altered in Multiple Districts: Apart from Patna, the order to modify school timings has been extended to several districts in the Bhagalpur, Saharsa, and Munger divisions. In these districts, the new timings for classes from 1st to 8th standard will be from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM, while for classes 9th to 12th, the timing will be from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
