Congress Unveils Manifesto, Promises Free Power, Food Grains, and Monthly Stipends for Graduates in Karnataka

Karnataka Election 2023: The political platform for the May 10 Karnataka elections, titled “Sarva Janangada Shanthiya Thota” (Peaceful Garden of All Communities), was released by the Congress party on Tuesday. In the presence of former Union minister P Chidambaram, chair of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee DK Shivakumar, and former chief minister Siddaramaiah, the manifesto was unveiled in Bengaluru by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge.

The menifesto promises “expansion of one pension programme” like it did in Himachal Pradesh and places a strong emphasis on women and young people. Additionally, the party pledged to increase reservations for scheduled castes. In its election manifesto, the manifesto reaffirmed five promises: Gruha Jyothi, Gruha Lakshmi, Anna Bhagya, Yuva Nidhi, and Shakti. Speaking at the occasion, Kharge stated that the commitments would be carried out in the first cabinet meeting following the formation of the government.
