Dehradun News: As continuous rains have been creating havoc in the city for the last few weeks, a college building has collapsed due to the heavy downpour. The Weather Department had issued a warning for Red Alert in the areas and asked people not to step out of the house if there’s no emergency. Amid heavy rain the city, the college building collapsed in seconds and washed away in the river. The NDRF and SDRF teams have been on stand bye to handle emergency situations.
Many areas witnessing Heavy Rainfall since 12th August
The area has been witnessing heavy rainfall since the 12th of August. The most affected area which has suffered major losses due to the downpour is Garwal. The authorities have shit all the roads and the near by places due to the bad weather and alerted the rescue teams to handle the situation in the city and the Neighbouring areas. The chamoli and the Uttarkashi area witnessed a cloud burst, due to which the roads were closed.
People have been advised not to go near Hilly Areas
Authorities have requested people not to go near Hilly areas. The Nandakini river in the chamoli area has reached the danger level due to the heavy rains. May people living in the near by areas had to leave their houses and take accommodation in safer places.
