Dehradun News: The Dehradun Delhi Expressway will kill the travel time of Doon to Delhi in 2-3 hours once its completed. The construction work of the 3.60 km stretch on the side of Uttarakhand will be finished by March 2024. The Public Work Department Minister also inspected the construction site and took stock of the situation and asked the workers to speed up work in a time bound manner. The total length of the corridor is 113 kms . The expressway is built over a budget of 970 crores and it is designed for a minimum speed of 100kms.
Passengers Travelling from Delhi-Dehradun will benefit
The travel distance from Dehradun to Delhi is 235kms which will reduced to 213 km after the corridor is ready. The Public Work Department Minister said that the construction of Delhi-Saharanpur-Dehradun Economic Corridor will improve the economy of the region and also the tourism industry of Uttarakhand.
Expressway starts from Akshardham and ends at Asharodi
The Public Work Department Minister said that the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor starts from the DME near Akshardham Temple in Delhi and goes to the National Highway 709B from EPHE interchange at Shastri Park, Khajurikhas, Mandola, Khekra (Baghpat). After this, the Greenfield Highway passing through Baghpat, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar and Saharanpur districts. It will then follow the existing National Highway 344 and National Highway 307 ending at Asharodi.
