Dehradun News: As the Dengue outbreak grips the city, blame game erupts between the Residents and the councilors over the lack of facilities and initiatives to deal with the outbreak. Many residents allege that despite a 4 day awareness campaign launched in the city about the Preventive Measures and awareness about the disease, nothing is being implemented. On the other hand, the Councillor of the area said that the Fogging, awareness programs, and Anti Mosquito Spraying should have been done long ago. Every department is responsible for the rise in cases.

Residents claim Negligence from Civic Agencies

Many Residents living around the Doon area also allege that even the District Magistrate’s office area is filthy and filled with stagnant water, apart from this Parade Ground Area, SSP Office also has stagnant water around their offices. Area Councillors are given adequate spray for fogging but they feel it is not sufficient for the whole ward. On the other hand, Health Secretary says Regular Fogging is being done in the area, and defaulters are also punished to keep a check.

Blood Donation Camps organized in the city

So far Dehradun reported 726 Dengue cases, and over 13 deaths. Authorities have arranged for Blood Donation camps so that affected people don’t fall short of blood.
