Delhi flood: In an unfortunate turn of events, at least three kids drowned while taking a bath in the flood water in Delhi. The incident took place in the Mukundpur area on Friday when three kids drowned in a ditch at a metro construction site. The three kid had jumped into the flood water to enjoy a bath when the mishap occurred. The kids were rushed to hospital at 3 pm where they were declared dead. The deceased have been identified as Piyush (13), Nikhil (10) and Ashish (13).
Devastating Delhi flood
After heavy rain showers in Delhi for consecutive three days, many low-lying regions of the national capital found themselves inundated, putting daily activities to a halt. The water level in Yamuna crossed the danger mark on Monday evening, forcing evacuation in the nearby areas. Currently, the water level in Yamuna is stable and is expected to recede further. The water level in Yamuna came down to 208.35 metres at 11 am on Friday, still three metre above the danger mark.
Rain showers in Delhi
Parts of the national capital on Friday afternoon received light, adding to the misery as the city continues to graple with a flood-like situation following the overflowing of the Yamuna river.The Regional Weather Forecast Centre (RWFC) on Friday morning predicted that “light intensity rain/drizzle would occur over and adjoining areas of Delhi (Jafarpur, Nazafgarh, Dwarka, Palam, IGI Airport, Ayanagar, Deramandi), NCR (Gurugram) Gohana, Sonipat (Haryana) Moradabad, Bahajoi in the next two hours.”
