Delhi floods: MCD Schools in flood-affected areas to conduct online classes till July 18

MCD Schools: In lieu of the ongoing flood situation in Delhi, MCD schools located in the affected areas will remain closed till tomorrow, July 18, in the national capital, as per the latest order issued by the civic body. The order came after the Yamuna Water Level witnessed a receding trend for the past two days. 

MCD schools shut until tomorrow in flood-affected areas

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) in an order directed all schools in the flood-affected areas to remain shut till July 18, Tuesday, in the national capital. This comes as the Delhi government assess the ground-level situation of the school. The civic body has also stated that if any apprehension arises, officials may close the schools further under prior information to the Zonal head. 

List of MCD Schools that will remain closed

MCD also released a list of MCD schools, MCD-aided and recognised schools that will open on July 17. 

As per the statement, theist of schools that would remain closed on July 17 and 18 include MCPS Palla (Girls) Narela Zone, MCPS Jahangirpuri R-Block Civil Lines Zone, MCPS Jahangirpuri EE-Block Civil Lines Zone, MCPS Jahangirpuri F&G- Block Civil Lines Zone, MCPS Zakir Nagar Hindi/Urdu Central Zone, MCPS Nangli Razapur Central Zone and others.  

Online classes

The statement also added that teachers would work from home and conduct classes through online mode of teaching. 

“In all above listed schools. Teachers shall work from home and conduct classes through online mode of teaching during the regular school hours. All HoS/incharges are further directed to assess the ground-level situation of their schools and if apprehension arises of flooding and endanger the safety of the students, as the situation warrants, may close the schools under prior intimation to the zonal head,” said the statement.
