Mayor Shelly Oberoi’s Immediate Response

In response to the tragedy, Mayor Shelly Oberoi has ordered a crackdown on all coaching centres operating in basements across the city. She instructed the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Commissioner to take immediate action against these centres, stating they violate building bye-laws and do not meet safety standards.

Inquiry into MCD’s Role

Mayor Oberoi also called for an inquiry to determine if any MCD officers were responsible for the oversight that led to this tragedy. This investigation aims to hold accountable those who may have neglected their duties, leading to the unsafe conditions at Rau’s IAS Study Circle.

Rescue Efforts and Investigation

The bodies of the three civil service aspirants were recovered on Saturday after a massive flooding incident.
