Delhi Metro: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has once again reminded the commuters about the fine if you sit on the floor of the Delhi Metro through a tweet. Although this fine has been imposed many a times, many commuters still sit on the floor of the Metro coaches without paying any attention on the rule and the constant reminder even during the announcement. However, the DMRC officials have been collecting fines from people who are caught sitting on the floor, but many of them continue to do so even after being warned by the officials.

DMRC has collected over 38 Lakh Rupees fine

Surprisingly the DMRC had collected over 38 lakh rupees as fine from people who have been caught violating the rule in the year 2018. This information was shared by an RTI. The DMRC has imposed a fine of Rs 200 if someone is caught sitting on the floor. A lot of passengers still feel that they don’t understand the reason why they should be fined for sitting on the floor.

Commuters were charged for disobeying other Rules also

According to DMRC, the Yellow line of the Metro has collected the maximum number of fines which is around 39, 20, 220 Rupees. The other activities which are banned in Metro are misusing the tokens, walking on the Metro tracks, carrying material which is not permitted etc.
