Delhi-NCR News: Government is making all efforts to ensure the construction work of the five mega expressways should finish before Lok Sabha Polls. After the completion of these five projects, the road will be free from the burden of 12 lakh vehicles. The expressways will smoothen the traffic in Delhi and NCR and people will be able to get relief from spending hours in the traffic jams. Government is trying to finish the project before the Lok Sabha elections. Every project is being monitored by the Prime Minister’s office so that there should be no delay in completing the projects.
Govt Monitoring delayed Projects
Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is monitoring the projects which are running late. Government also asked the status of all projects which are running behind their schedule and asked them to finish their projects on time.
Five Projects of the Central Government are–
Urban Extension Road 2: This is a 74 km long road from Faridabad to Indus border via Dwarka. This is likely to be completed by Feb 2024.
Delhi Dehradun Expressway: This will start from Akshardham and will end at Dehradun via UP Border and Baghpat. This project is running behind its scheduled time.
Dwarka Expressway: This expressway will be built between Delhi and Haryana. This is also running behind schedule.
Expressway connector: This 60km long connector will connect Delhi Mumbai Expressway with Delhi. With this expressway, over 2.5 lakh vehicles will be reduced.
Katra Expressway: This expressway will reduce burden of 1.5 lakh vehicles on Delhi Amritsar National Highway.
The five Projects will change the face of the Traffic of Delhi and NCR. People travelling through road will benefit as it will save lot of travel time.
