Delhi News: Delhi to get 400 Electric Buses ahead of the G20 Summit; Details

Delhi News: Delhi’s Transport Minister introduced 400 Electric buses to run in the National Capital just days ahead of the G20 summit. The New Buses will be launched from the IP Depot. Delhi’s Transport Minister visited the location and take stock of the preparations before the launch of the buses. Apart from this, the Transport Minister visited the Mayapuri Electric Bus Depot where 100 buses were scheduled to be operated simultaneously. According to sources, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and LG V K Saxena will flag off the event. The Transport Minister also spoke to the Bus drivers who will operate the buses.

Delhi Govt Likely to introduce 1500 buses by the Year End

New Delhi will become the first city where maximum electric buses run in the whole country. As of now, Uttar Pradesh has the maximum number of electric buses running in the state. Over 400 electric buses currently run in Delhi and now this number will be doubled. The Delhi Government has a target of introducing 1500 electric buses by the end of this year.

Special Arrangements made to deal with Water Logging

Authorities have also planned to deal with the menace of water logging during the G20 summit. 4 Special vehicles have been called from Ahmedabad to prevent Water Logging in the state. These heavy duty mobile de-watering trucks will be placed near Pragati Maidan and Rajghat. These vehicles will be equipped with high capacity suction pumps. These have the capacity of drawing water at the rate of 10000 litres per minute from a radius of 15 meters.
