Delhi News: There is a big change happening at Delhi’s esteemed Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital! There is now work underway on a brand-new super speciality block that will provide patients even more upgraded amenities and services. This expansion, which is being funded by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of the Government of India, is expected to greatly improve the standard of healthcare that RML offers.
Expanded Treatment Options for a Range of Ailments
Those suffering from a variety of complicated medical ailments can benefit greatly from the super speciality block. Advanced treatment options, ranging from kidney illnesses and cancer to neurological problems and heart issues, will be available in the new block. This will be a much-needed shift, particularly for individuals who are now restricted by the hospital’s space limitations.
Modern Amenities and Improved Patient Comfort
The long wait will soon end for vital treatments such as kidney transplants, paediatric cardiology, and radiation therapy. The super speciality block will cater to these specialties and provide enhanced gastroenterology and other critical treatment services. However, that’s not all! With contemporary facilities across the wards, the new block places a high priority on patient comfort. Think about private rooms that have televisions, refrigerators, and air conditioning—all of which are intended to create a soothing and restorative atmosphere that meets AIIMS standards.
Increased Capacity and Faster Service
With its enormous 550-bed capacity, the super speciality block will greatly expand the patient base that RML can care for. Shorter wait times and simpler access to specialised treatment result from this. While private wards provide single occupancy for the highest level of privacy, semi-private rooms may hold two patients each.
Progressing at a Rapid Pace
August 2019 saw the laying of the project’s foundation stone. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic and approval processes caused some early delays, work is currently progressing quickly. By the end of November 2024, the super speciality block is expected to be in operation, giving RML’s medical services a much-needed boost.
