Delhi News: In a concerning series of events, three hospitals and the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in Delhi have been targeted by bomb threat emails, escalating fears and prompting immediate security responses.
String of Bomb Threats Plague Delhi, Hospitals and Airport Targeted
The latest threat emails were received by Burari Hospital, Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Mangolpuri, and Dada Dev Hospital in the Dabri area of Delhi, sparking rapid deployment of bomb squad and dog squad teams by the Delhi Fire Service. Police teams swiftly arrived at each location to conduct thorough searches, ensuring the safety of the premises and its occupants. Fortunately, no explosives were discovered during the inspections, providing some relief amidst the tense situation.
IGI Airport also received a similar threatening email, prompting a robust search operation by Delhi Police personnel
Adding to the alarm, the IGI Airport also received a similar threatening email, prompting a robust search operation by Delhi Police personnel. The timely intervention aimed to neutralize any potential risks and safeguard airport operations and travelers.
These incidents mark a troubling trend of escalating bomb threats in Delhi, following a similar scare earlier this month when over 100 schools in Delhi and Noida were targeted with threatening emails on May 1st. The threats prompted widespread closures of educational institutions and a massive evacuation effort to ensure the safety of students and staff. Fortunately, subsequent investigations revealed the threats to be hoaxes, though the incidents triggered heightened vigilance and investigations into the source of the threats.
As authorities continue to grapple with the surge in bomb threats, the public remains on edge, underscoring the urgent need for enhanced security measures and swift action to apprehend those responsible for instigating such alarming incidents.
