Exit Polls 2023: The BJP will emerge victorious in Tripura and is expected to keep its hold on power in Nagaland, Exit Polls predicted on Monday. Conrad Sangma’s NPP will probably become the only major party in Meghalaya and form the government, suggested the exit polls. However, tables can turn anytime.
In 2023, three northeastern states Tripura, Meghalaya, and Nagaland went into polls in February. While Meghalaya and Nagaland voted today, elections in Tripura took place on February 16. Voting took place in 59 Assembly constituencies across the state of Meghalaya and in 60 Assembly constituencies in Nagaland. In the one-day assembly elections, Tripura received close to 88 percent of the vote.
Meghalaya Exit Polls
According to an exit poll, Conrad Sangma’s NPP will win Meghalaya with 18 to 26 seats. It was projected that the Trinamool Congress would win 8–14 seats and the Congress, 2–5.
Reacting to the exit surveys, Sangma said, “If we get a fractured mandate, we will have to talk to other parties to form government. Northeast gets divided amongst themselves and the numbers don’t give it a voice at the national level. If a party can give voice to Northeast at the national level, then we will work towards it.”
Nagaland Exit Polls
The NDPP is slated to get 28-34 seats with a vote share of 33 per cent, as per a survey, while another survey suggested 27-33 seats for NDPP.
Moreover, the poll provides the BJP an unexpected 16% vote share and 10–14 seats, which may originate from eastern Nagaland, where it concentrated its campaigning.
For NPF 4-8 have been predicted by an exit polls report, while other suggested 2-5 seats for the party.
Tripura Exit Polls
Tipra Motha has been predicted to win 11–16 seats in Tripura. The CMP-Congress coalition is anticipated to win 13 to 21 seats, one exit poll suggested.
Another survey has predicted an easy win for the BJP and the IPFT in Tripura, predicting them to win between 36 and 45 seats. The BJP would triumph spectacularly after receiving 45% of the general vote, the majority of which came from the plains where Bengalis reside, it said.
The Left Alliance, of which Congress is also a part, will win between six and 11 seats, the exit polls suggested.
