Farmers Protest: In response to their demands, 746 farmers shut out the Noida Authority office on January 18. A charge has been filed under serious sections against them. Based on the authority’s JE’s complaint, the police filed a case on January 23 but kept it under wraps. It has been roughly a month after this FIR was discovered. Farmers are upset with the police because of their attitude. The farmers urged that this fictitious lawsuit be dropped during their meeting with the CEO.
Identification of Sukhveer Khalifa
Sukhveer Khalifa, the National President of the Bharatiya Kisan Parishad, is one of the 700 unknown farmers identified in the police file that has 700 farmers under investigation. According to the First Information Report (FIR) filed by Authority Junior Engineer Arun Verma, on January 18, farmers arrived to the Noida Authority office to impose lockdown.
In addition to the farmers mentioned, a group of over 700 individuals, comprising adults, children, and women, congregated outside the Noida Authority and sang anti-Noida Authority chants such as “Murdabad.” They said, “We’re going to break into the Noida Authority and lock it up.” This time, law enforcement and authority figures urged these individuals to keep the peace and requested that they have discussions.
Forced Eviction of Workers
They also beat up and demanded that the impoverished people who were working in factories to feed their families and themselves—by opening calli, tapri, tea shops, etc.—run away from the Noida Authority. Many persons, including Sukhveer Khalifa, Mahendra, and Jaiveer Pradhan, are said to have climbed the barrier at Noida Development Authority Gate No. 4 after shouting this.
They began yelling as they attempted to shut the gate, and as a result of the barrier breaching, several individuals collapsed. They insulted the national flag that was erected at the gate.
