Jalalabad: The district administration took a unique initiative to make Fazilka district free from child begging. In this regard, the project was started from Jalalabad and 6 children were admitted to the Government school and uniforms and school bags were disbursed to them.
Aim to uplift the life of the weaker sections of society
After the admission of these children to the Government Primary school Basti Ramgaria (Jalalabad),
in the presence of Jalalabad MLA Mr. Jagdeep Kamboj Goldy, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Senu Duggal
said that the government led by Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Mann has clear mandate to
uplift the life of the weaker sections of society.
Dr. Senu Duggal said that education is the right of every child and only with the help of education
socio-economic development of society is possible, but due to lack of awareness, people are unable
to take advantage of the government’s free education facility and do not send their children to
school. “But now the district administration is conducting a comprehensive survey through the child
protection unit and the education department to identify such children who are not going to
school,” she added.
Deputy Commissioner further said that after identification of all such drop out children from school,
these will be brought to school again, She also appealed to the parents on this occasion to send their
children to school for their future.
Punjab Govt. Dedicated for the welfare of children
Jalalabad MLA Mr. Jagdeep Kamboj Goldy said that the Punjab government is determined for the
welfare of the weaker sections of society He said that education and health are the priorities of the
government and no child will be deprived of education.
SDM Mr. Ravinder Singh Arora, Deputy District Education Officer Mrs. Anju Sethi, District Child
Protection Officer Mrs. Ritu, Mr. Dev Raj Sharma, Tony Chhabra, Akunsh Mutneja etc. were also
present on this occasion.
