MLA’s disqualification led to by-poll
Yogi is likely to address an election rally in Khatauli on Wednesday in support of BJP candidate Rajkumari Saini, the wife of former MLA Vikram Saini. The bypoll was caused when Saini was disqualified after his conviction in Muzaffarnagar riot case. Saini, an Ayurveda practitioner, had joined the BJP months before 2017 assembly polls after leaving the Bahujan Samaj Party along with Swami Prasad Maurya.
Dharam Singh Saini and Swami Prasad Maurya both were cabinet ministers in the first tenure of Yogi Adityanath.
